I have been working at US Army

Pros

A great place to work in order to help Soldiers. Fort Knox, Kentucky is a wonderful Army installation to work with fellow legal professionals who are truly professionals in all senses of the word.

Cons

Flexibility is required in order to succeed. The Army has an enormous number of variables which impacty how it functions, and reacting to change is necessary in order to deal with the constantly evolving workplace tempo.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The Army has a complex mission and leadership does admirably in serving the nation at a time of war, when budget contraints are such a pressing issue.

    Pros

    Great benefits and compensation.
Early opportunties for huge amounts of responsibility - excellent learning experience.
Working with a very diverse cross-section of America means you develop multiple perspectives.

    Cons

    Deployment to war zones.
It is an old, large organization, which means there is a lot of beauraucracy.
Promotions are typically based on time in position instead of your aptitude.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Slimming down the Army is a great start - continue to maintain the best leaders and let go those individuals who are not adding value.
