    Pros

Good structure, you know what to expect. You'll get the same basic experience regardless of where you are stationed, though of course individual units can vary in a lot of areas.

    Cons

You can't advance faster than your peers, there's often little incentive to work extra. Once everyone gets the same "best qualified" types of ratings, they start to mean very little.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to treat NCOs like officers.
