Pros

Benefits, Travel, education, pay and the ability for different assignments and jobs.

Cons

Long deployments but those are coming to an end:-) Getting a lot better.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't downgrade future recruits benefits.

    I have been working at US Army part-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    + Great educational opportunities
    + Good salary and fringe benefits
    + Camaraderie and friendship
    + Great reputation to most Americans

    Cons

    - Long hours depending on unit and operations tempo
    - Micromanagement trend seen since 2010
    - Reserve administrative system could be more efficient (e.g. receiving orders, transferring, etc.)
    - Bias against reserve and national guard by some active duty leaders

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    o Allow junior leaders more opportunity to recover from mistakes
    o Keep unit administrators at reserve battalions in order to ensure expeditious processing of actions
