Best decision of my life!

Deputy Director of Operations (Current Employee)
Augusta, GA

Pros- Gave me maturity and discipline, what I lacked coming out of high school.
- Leadership training, one of the most marketable and scarcest job skill in today's market.
- You build life long friends, high school/college friends pale in comparison.....brotherhood!
- Serve your country, not yourself. You get to be part of something bigger!
- Outstanding educational benefits, GiBill and ROTC scholarship helped in exponential ways.

Cons- Long hours, far from home.....not for the timid.
- 20 years takes a toll on the body.

Advice to Senior Management1. Reinforce common sense
2. Purge the toxic leaders.
3. Demand all COL and above go through a 360 assessment prior to a promotion board...don't let them cherry pick the assessors, let the OER system assign them.
4. Ditch the PT belts for everything, it looks awful....or see #1.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

    Experiences vary depending on department

    General Engineer (Current Employee)
    Huntsville, AL

I have been working at US Army full-time for more than a year

Pros: Great work/life balance with 40 hours per week, holidays and paid sick and vacation leave. Good benefits, the premiums could be less to be more… Cons: Some departments tend to be micromanaged, and the work can be repetitive and tedious. Also the compensation isn't what I could be making elsewhere. There… Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company… More
