I have been working at US Army full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great leadership opportunity - never the same daily routine - able to see the country and the world - progression opportunity - lifetime friendships - great benefits

    Cons

long hours - family separation/deployments - re-locate every two-three years - retirement is not promise, you will have to plan for it if you don't complete 20 years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Most managers are doing their job to serve themselves and their evaluation reports. IF we could do away with the reports, the managers could be better leaders.

I have been working at US Army full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Travel to exotic places...meet unfriendly people...drink 3 cups of tea....blow stuff up.

    Cons

Hmm...well, you get shot at...or worse blown up.
A SGT loses a weapon and goes to jail...a GEN loses a war and gets a full-time teaching gig at the NDU.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The War Department hasn't won one since it got renamed the Department of Defense....coincidence? The 4 star GO's need to figure out how to win one or convince their boss (POTUS) not to go.
