US Army – “Decent job, difficult lifestyle”
Pros
Pay for officer ranks
Benefits, especially vacation time
Esprit de corps
Potential to do an important job immediately after college
Cons
Approximately every other year is spent in Iraq or Afghanistan
At least two months of every non-deployed year are spent in 'the field' away from home
Advice to Senior Management
The Army leadership is not responsible for the most difficult aspects of life in the Army today, however a more consistent effort to make time for life outiside of work would be appreciated.
