Former Employee - Health Care Sergeant
Former Employee - Health Care Sergeant

I worked at US Army full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

Excellent training, education benefits, pay

Cons

Never allowed to take advantage of education benefits, Never allowed to go to schools to help for promotion or experience, too many selfish leaders. No guidance or mentoring anymore. Very few live up to the Army Values anymore. Officers do not appreciate enlisted. They are quick to blame and not accept responsibility.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

You are the problem. Not the Soldiers. If you can't see flaws in yourself, you need to go home. It's evident by the amount of top level leadership getting in trouble. The sense of entitlement is disgusting.

I have been working at US Army

    Pros

Fly best helicpters and work with the finest people to lead.

    Cons

Leadership have began a tail spin with lip service supporting troops and families. Sad turn around and taging unwanted in media fat soldiers, tatoo's not to standard, atitude police to correct UNIFORM and attitude issues, civilians must think all departing service are dirt bags. Thanks to an unfeeling unaware leadership that forgot all lessons learned in the 1990's drawdown. Sad to see the pendulum of military moral after an exhaustive war drive go into the toilet.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Read the lessons of past buget tighting and errors in tagging military negatively in the media. Loss loss leadership style which will return a group of folks wanting to join less than a stellar profile. US military with mordern technologies that's often the tip of the advancments in our 21st century lifestyle. The government will need the best and brightest to support these technologies into the future.
