    Pros

    - Pay is pretty good
    - The people are good, competent, and fun to work with
    - Combat and War are exciting
    - Deployments
    - Good Leadership Professional Development

    Cons

The Army has become very "politically reactionary". This flows down to the bottom ranks. If it is in the news, the Generals will freak out and have a monumental over reaction trying to correct a perceived problem. This makes life pretty miserable and unstable since there is always something. The suicide focus was real. This SHARP stuff is questionable. A few years ago a DUI would get you in a lot of trouble...now it gets you a Other Than Honorable discharge. A few years ago you could be kicked out and given a General discharge for being gay..... now you get benefits and are fawned over. A few years ago the Army needed you for the war....now they are looking for anyway to kick Soldiers out. A few years ago, common sense ruled....now retrograding to a "80's" Army is paramount. The Army has become a very confusing place. I feel like the Army has lost it's way. The Army has in many ways not done the right thing in the past, now they try to right the wrong and go overboard.

    Advice to Management

Do the right thing all the time....then you won't have to overreact to issues. Stop blaming the bottom ranks for how the Army is. We grew up in your Army and are products of your leadership. Stop being so political, politicians have that job, they expect you to be sound military leaders.
