I worked at US Army full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Hundreds of benefits...if you can navigate the system and have the time, and if you live off the active duty side for 20 years and save ALL your money you can have a cool million by the time you are 38

Cons

You are not the owner of your body. You must do what you're told when you're told. Then there is always war. never pleasant

Advice to Management

There is nothing you can do. Because of the size and the complexity created by the military's system of micro management, there is nothing that can be done.

    Pros

The travel is unparalleled. There is no other place an 18 year old kid can get a guaranteed job as a satellite technician with an assignment to Hawaii right out of High School.

    Cons

Upper level promotions are based on a board, and not necessarily job proficiency.

    Pros

you get a place to live, foods to eat, and get healthier while you're in it. a sense of serving the country in different ways

    Cons

very ineffective decision making, processing, executing do not really require high level of education and thereby not too much chance to actually grow.
