Pros

Meet great people from all over the world, duty and endless opportunities if you take advantage. Responsibility early in your career. Wearing the United States flag on your right shoulder is an honor. A great leader can change your life and outlook.

Cons

Buddy system (it's all about who you know), easily passed over for promotion if you are a great soldier due to previous comment, poor leadership

    Pros

You meet tons of people from different upbringings. Most of the time you get to travel often as well. The benefits are quite extraordinary. Even though my experiences haven't been the best, I am grateful to have served and wouldn't trade it for anything.

    Cons

Quite a bit of bad leadership. Favoritism. If you want to get promoted a lot of it has to do with who is appointed over you. Most of the time you get promoted for your "book smarts" and not your actual job experience. You often get treated like a child despite your age. If you're not a patient person you might want to look for another place to work. Plus it's a salary job that doesn't pay much for the amount of time you have to put in.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to what's going on with your soldiers. Moral is a big deal and it pays to keep it in mind.
