I have been working at US Army

Pros

This is an organization that pretty much gives you what you put into it. You'll be recognized for good performance.

Cons

Because there is such a structured promotion system that is based on over inflated evaluations there area fair number of truly incompetent leaders within the organization. Usually these leaders are members of other organization that lend some type of top cover for nefarious behavior.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The management already understands these issues. However, changing the Army is like turning a battleship, it just takes time.

    Pros

Gaining the knowledge of what third world countries are truly like is invaluable. The experience of deployment and separation from not only family, but also your culture, will make you appreciate the beauty of our country.

    Cons

The ability of politicians to get their politically correct issues forced into your job is horrible. The Army is not a place for this type of experimentation. It does matter who is the CINC to you and your job while in the military.

    Pros

a youthful and results based organization with a focus on learning, instead of teaching. Very driven and focused on making and achieving goals.

    Cons

it is a huge bureaucracy that one can get lost in. It is easy to become a round peg in a round hole.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get back to basics and stop worrying about every detail in Joe's life. All the surveys in the world will not stop suicide.
