    Pros

Structure and opportunities to challenge yourself. Learn new skills and experience that will bring you ahead of the pack.

    Cons

Pick your path carefully, especially as an officer. They will have secondary and tertiary effects on your future options.

    Advice to Management

Focus on retaining your most experience and knowledgeable workers, not the new ones. Revamp the promotion system so that unqualified people don't lead, or if they admit they aren't ready yet, don't force them up or out.
