Former Employee - Crew Leader Assistant in Reno, NV
Former Employee - Crew Leader Assistant in Reno, NV

I worked at US Census Bureau as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

The working environment is highly variable and engaging. The work requires competence and the learning curve can provide a challenge, but the methodology is neither complicated nor difficult for new employees to grasp.

    Cons

Due to the required flexibility in personal schedule, the ability to schedule enumeration around school, another job, etc. is greatly exaggerated. Advertising jobs as ideal for students or for people looking for extra work does nothing but mislead potential census employees about the actual expectations of management regarding productivity.

    Neutral Outlook
