US Coast Guard Employee Review

I have been working at US Coast Guard full-time for more than a year

Pros – Military benefits/discounts for non-military work.
Salary - sometimes a con
Tuition assistance
Kitchen in one of the buildings.
Exchange available on base.

Cons – Not good at training.
More unprofessional and unorganized than expected.
Work hours not flexible, unless you have a kid.
Poor communication between some departments. Two of my bosses sit next to each other all day and by the end of the day did not verify they were on the same page about work travel the following morning. Then they complain about lack of funds for travel because they have to make unnecessary trips to make up for not coordinating.

Advice to Senior Management – set a better example for your employees.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
