    Pros

Promotion potential is high, great benefit package, opportunities to travel around the world, many training opportunities available, will help pay for a masters degree, high job stability, one of the best retirement programs available.

    Cons

A very big agency that takes time to understand all aspects of its business. Most jobs at DLA require a security clearance, which could be a problem for some people.

    Advice to Management

Give new employees more responsibility and a voice in managerial decisions.

Lots of policies, but great with training and freedom to complete mission.

    Pros

Can select technology that best fits solution. Also flex time work hours and teleworking. If you are half-way competent, you will look like a rock star.

    Cons

Some offices have pre-disposition towards technology solutions without there being a need. Often resources are wasted for political reasons. Employee workforce seems hyper-focused on retirement, not on getting mission accomplished.

    Advice to Management

Treat entire workforce as one unit. Current splits in handling contractors and employees creates division between workers, yet the contractors provide a necessary and unique skill, often back-filing for employees who lack experience, training, education, skill, and motivation.
