    Pros

    Caring staff, positive attitudes, even when faced with military budget cuts. Plenty of time off and paid holidays, as well as compensation for training.

    Cons

    Compensation, compensation, compensation, compensation, small office space, crowded working conditions, very little parking spaces.

    Don't be afraid to step outside the box.

    I have been working at US Department of Defense full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    good oportunities for training and conference attendance, employment is intrinsic civil service to the nation, job security is not related to the success of sales and marketing

    Cons

    wages are FAR lower than corresponding private sector jobs, FURLOUGH at random even though your "company" prints the nations currency and cannot legally ever default or go bankrupt, management rotations can inevitably be influenced by national politics with bi-polar policy implimentation, and on and on and on...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    demonstrate how you value your employees and stop the FURLOUGH
