I have been working at US Department of Justice

    Pros

I worked here as a student so they were very flexible with me and my schedule. I really liked the people I worked with.

    Cons

The work got repetitive after a while. My first few months I learned a lot, but after that it was just stable. Kind of got boring towards my last few months.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow students to perform more of the duties especially as they are advancing through their academic career. It will allow students to really see the things they learned in school in the real world.

    Pros

SDNY has a deservedly strong legal reputation, but it should also be known as a great place to work. Despite the incredible intellectual talents of all the staff, egos are generally small and the intra-office dynamic is supportive and fun. The cases offer exceptional access to cutting edge law.

    Cons

Salaries are relatively small compared to private sector peers. Hours can be excessive. Attempting the LSAT while on trial is nearly impossible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management at SDNY is great. The only advice would be to have a structure program of attorney's speaking about their experience in the field and about the law school application process.
