Former Employee - Communications/Public Affairs in Washington, DC

I worked at US Department of Treasury full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

High visibility, advancement, professionalism, career training, coaching for success, travel, team oriented

Cons

Lack of latest technology tools, very rigid structure and ops, not very fexible. Career recruitment from the college level is not flexible in any way.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest more resources in the latest PCs, video communications and training. Loosen up rules and procedures to allow flexibility and encourage more innovation. Put more emphasis on hiring younger folks right out of college and give them the tools to succeed with a fast career path.
