    Pros

My office has extremely flexible hours and work schedules. Teleworking is encouraged, and a great option for people who live outside of the city.

    Cons

A typical government agency - little transparency, lots of red tape. Everything you do needs to be approved by a supervisor, but it's not always clear who that person is. Sometimes you'll get tasks from other departments, but you won't report to the person who assigned you the task when you've finished.

I have been working at US Department of Treasury full-time

    Pros

The Treasury has some very wonderful people who have earned their position. The Treasury wants to change and evolve despite being a large bureaucracy.

    Cons

Internal politics, fraternizing, lack of personnel who have new technology skills, mac-phobia. Stuck in the industrial age mindset.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire managers who have new technology skills and a Masters or PHD in Management that has been earned in the last 20 years from an accredited university not in DC. DC is becoming a bubble and that is not healthy for our country.
