I worked at US Department of Veterans Affairs

    Pros

Paid fairly well, holidays off, time to spend with my family when needed and hopefully an opportunity to advance but in order to get that advance I have to leave this organization

    Cons

Lazy worthless supervisor who plays the race card and believes that going the EEO route is the road to retirement. Slothful employees who are NOT veterans and could care less about veterans. Employees refer to them as pieces of Sh*t and could care less about doing the right thing for them. Had I known what these employees were like I would have never taken this position. The supervisors lie to their employees and have poisoned the work environment creating fear and worry in order to keep their meager control.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire the people that have ruined this organization and do not worry if this person or that person was fired on your watch. I don't give a crap of you're retiring in 2 years Director, you need to do the right thing

I worked at US Department of Veterans Affairs full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Priority to patient care and salary. All patients receive care if they have the service connection or financial need.

    Cons

Traffic. Staffing level remains same while patient number increases when economy declines.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find out needs of lower level employees.
