Pros

US Ecology has excellent benefits - health, dental, vision, 401k, vacation, and carpooling assistance (depending on where you live). The company is also highly concerned and proactive about employee safety and welfare. Lastly, the environment within the company is friendly and informal.

Cons

The location is the biggest con; unless you live in Grand View, ID (town of population 500) the commute to work is likely to be at least 45 minutes, and up to 1.5 hours if living in the Boise area. Being a small site (60-70 employees at the Grand View site), advancement opportunities are limited.

    Pros

Very friendly office environment. Lots of room to take on more responsibility. Leadership is open to new ideas. You can really make a name for yourself and make changes if you're persistent and can explain why they would be beneficial.

    Cons

US Ecology needs to work on building an environment where employees are more interested in interdepartmental problem solving, innovating, and sharing ideas. Also, some of upper management is very old school when it comes to Marketing, Branding, PR, etc. (Read "old school" as "behind the times")

    Advice to Management

Build a culture of critical thinking, experimentation, and sharing of information. A lot of the best ideas that can change your business for the better can come from employees several levels down. Don't discount their opinions and feedback.
