Pros

Great job if one likes to work mandatory overtime. They include experience and education when hiring and promoting.

Cons

The method they use to promote employees to higher positions. It never seems to be the best person for the position, or the most qualified. It appears to be employees who are a friend or family member. Many times there are so many employees that are trying for a position, not everyone receives an interview. The HR department have production standards that they are expected to meet. and their methods of processing a resume is a random process, not actually picking the best for the position.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire managers with the proper education or experience to manage employees. Give all qualified employees a chance to interview for the position. They deserve a chance to sell themselves and their achievements, knowledge, experience and education.

Current Employee - Field Investigator in Tampa, FL

    Pros

Flexabilty and don't have to go to the office, work is field based.

    Cons

Management will over work you. They are unethical and violate many labor laws. It is just a matter of time before their largest customer will shut them down. This job is only about making money for USIS in anyway posssible, even if it means screwing over the customer (tax payers) or it's employee's. There are many court cases and news acounts that you can review that will give you some insight into what goes on in this company. Please do your research and talk to as many people as posssible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go back to medical sales, USIS does not need you anymore.

    Pros

Flexible schedule for those with a very strong work ethic. Autonomy as long as you are performing within the standard (which changes often).

    Cons

Extremely difficult to keep up with changes in metrics and how performance is judged. High turn over of mid management so you never know who is working for who. Standards are getting tougher and tougher to meet and the "superstars" seem to live and breathe their job...making "average to above average" employees look like total slackers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

go on a few checkrides...spend a whole week with one person to see what they are really dealing with.
