Current Employee - Sales Agent  in  New York, NY
Current Employee - Sales Agent in New York, NY

Pros

Great money. Flexible schedule. *BENEFITS*. Opportunities to move up in the ranks, if you're so inclined. You can travel within the company; places like NYC, LA, Chicago, London, Hawaii, Alaska. Get to know your area (which is awesome, especially if you're new to the region). Really feel like you're part of a team.

Cons

100% Commission-based, commute-heavy. Sometimes you will find yourself in a store where the employees outnumber the shoppers. Depending on the product you are presenting, you may have to buy supplies for that day (you are reimbursed, however).

Advice to ManagementAdvice

A guaranteed, base-rate would be nice at the agent level, especially considering the travel involved in some markets. Also, some kind of back-up plan for when agents are sick or need to take a last-minute personal day would also be great - but that's probably better dealt with on a market-to-market basis.

Former Employee - Sales Agent in Cleveland, OH

    Pros

Fun. Meet alot of people. Holiday time can make lots of money. Options for travel. Work on acting skills everyday. Learned a lot about sales and peoples minds

    Cons

Not a lot of money in Cleveland Area. They make you pay for Travel expenses. 100 percent commissioned based. if you do not sell you do not make any money.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more clear about what you want from your sales agents. Be consistent across the country with rules and regulations. Communicate more throughly (ie sales agent news letter)>

    Disorganized and tiresome.

Former Employee - Sales Agent in San Jose, CA

    Pros

Opportunity to make a lot of money in november and december because of christmas. Ability to decide how many days a week you want to work although its not always honored.

    Cons

no base pay. horrible management. no effort to fix anything on their part. They still owe me money and won't look into issues from last year because its "closed" and too late.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

be more transparent and honest. Don't manipulate people. Don't exaggerate when you're hiring and tell them they can get health insurance when they can't. You're policies don't encourage your employees to work well.
