Pros

Steady pay and benefits
Housing provided
Opportunity to serve country
Become disciplined
Learn new skills or trades depending upon what job you enlist for
The respect and admiration of a grateful nation

Cons

Have to live where they tell you
Deployments can be rough
Competitive promotion system sometimes results in people getting denied reenlistment and getting pushed out.

Advice to Management

Adopt a more bottom to the top management style, rather than top to bottom. Marine Corps leadership is effective, but at times it is unnecessarily painful.

    Pros

The level of brotherhood amongst true Marines is beyond the deepest you can imagine, and have ever felt unless you have lived it. Being a Marine will afford you experiences that are beyond the reach of anyone else.

    Cons

The tedium and doldrums of everyday life will drive you to the brink of sanity, and at times drive you past. Be prepared to put up with an unfathomable amount of crap, which will at times be for no reason other than to have something to do.

    Advice to Management

Practice the leadership traits and principles and all will be well.
