Pros

You gain a sense of belonging, pride, and leadership. You know that you have made a difference.

Cons

Very high pressure. Can be hazzardous to your health and the nature of combat exposes you to a high probability of injury or death.

Advice to Management

Do not lose sight of the fact that the lowest ranking Marines are the ones who fight the fight and win the battles.

    Pros

Unique experiences, lasting friendships, unparalleled pride, and an environment that makes you mature like nothing else. Getting out with an honorable discharge will make you very desirable to civilian employers, and the GI Bill is extremely valuable. Not only will you be recieving a living allowance while going to school for free, the Marine Corps prepares you to stay focused in school and succeed. Also, every once in a while you get to blow stuff up.

    Cons

Completely consumes your life, stress like you've never known before, hard to maintain relationships or a social life (or a sense of personal identity), extremely physically demanding, dangerous work, medieval medical care, mediocre benefits and pay, advancement in rank can be tough and sometimes biased, quality of leaders in charge of you can vary wildly, likely to leave the service with some form of injury/disability even after just one enlistment.

    Advice to Management

If the focus is more on whether Marines are shaving or wearing the right color socks, and less on whether they are hardened enough to face war and win, then the Corps is weakening and does not deserve the proud legacy of our past. Focus more on making hardcore warriors and less on grooming Marines for the careerist welfare state.

    Pros

Good dependable pay and benefits, see things and go places many others never get to see.

    Cons

Have to leave your family behind for long periods of time, usually a higher number of things you're going to hate doing vs. the things that are going to be fun and exciting.

    Advice to Management

N/A never made it up the ranks high enough to be in the position to advise the management.
