Pros

Teaches discipline and good work habits that will carry on throughout the rest of your life.
Great benefits if you choose not to renew your contract (Gi Bill, Veterans Benefits, Disability, ect)
Great place to make life long friends / connections.
Employers are more likely to hire a Veteran because of their proven work ethic and commitment.
30 days of paid vacation a year.

Cons

Strict rules and regulations, some of which may not necessarily make sense - due to Marine Corps Tradition.
