Pros

Learned a great amount of skill including teamwork, attention to detail, work ethic, leadership, independence, and did I mention attention to detail? All of which transfer ESPECIALLY if you honorably discharge first term. You can take some of the things you learn here to great lengths, especially after using that GI Bill (which is awesome).

Cons

Long shifts, strong mental (unreversable) stress, considerably less rights than a civilian counterpart, and very short, if any, lunch breaks.

Advice to Management

Your troops come first, ALWAYS.

    Pros

Leadership, Esprit de Corps, Family type atmosphere once stationed at your new duty location. Opportunities in CyperSecurity are limitless as well as Communications. After retirement, opportunites available for contractor positions.

    Cons

The war is ending and defense cutbacks will soon result in a drawdown of many forces across all services.

    Advice to Management

Retire senior officers to make room for junior officers.

    Pros

Ethics, hard work and quality people. Decent leadership.

    Cons

Very political. If you're an officer and a general's kid my observation is that you get distinct advantages/preferential treatment that someone else will not receive.

    Advice to Management

Keeping faith with Marines and their family is more lip service than practical application.
