I have been working at US Marine Corps full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

There are travel opportunities, There are great benefits for education along with free health care. You can make some great friends. The pay is great. A lot of resources to use on base that do not cost anything but your time to go there.

Cons

I have not had any down sides while working in the US Marine Corps. I have loved the last 20 years. yeah there may be bad days, but that can happen at any job. The good ones have beat out the bad 9 to 1.

I have been working at US Marine Corps full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Guaranteed paycheck, pride of being a United States Marine, travel, GI bill / Veteran benefits, Medical, Dental.

    Cons

Physically / Mentally demanding, long obscured hours, if enlisted you're treated like a child until E-4, slow promotion system, payed next to nothing for first 2 years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fix the promotion system, implement on base recycling, start treating the lower enlisted like people and not children.

I have been working at US Marine Corps full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Work life balance, benefits, AWS (Alternate Work Schedule)

    Cons

No morale, lack of career development, bureaucratic, old workforce and no training. This place is not for young professionals graduating from college with career aspirations. Budget cuts and furloughs will continue to destroy morale among the agency.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire people who want to make a difference to serve the warfighter.
