I have been working at US National Archives and Records Administration

    Pros

If you can get it, the benefits are pretty nice. If you get a permanent job, it's pretty much for life, even if you are terrible at your job. The transformation made things feel new and hopeful for a while.

    Cons

It's hard to get a job here unless you are a veteran, have a disability, or are a recent graduate (pathways). If you are one of the hard workers you will see the people around you under performing with no repercussions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire the people who do not meet the standards of their position. It would vastly improve job satisfaction. Convert term and temporary employees who have proven themselves.
