I worked at US National Guard part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    -Extra money each month.
    -Fairly cheap healthcare available.

    Cons

-Not very professional (coming from active duty).
-Lack of funding for quality equipment and training.
-High number of arrogant people with rank who have little real experience and are not very committed.
-Large amounts of time wasted on doing nothing.
-Working with people who aren't even dedicated or tought enough to handle working in the rain even though they will be able to change clothes and go home in a couple of hours, need to toughen up, this is supposed to be an army.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn what's actually important and train on it seriously. Stop getting fixated on things that don't matter very much.
