Best and Longest Serving Branch of the United States Military

Retired Army National Guard and City Police Officer (Current Employee) Bremerton, WA

ProsAs a military organizational, the United States National Guard is committed to its dual role as a highly trained combat element during a time of war and its first responder role, during regional disasters. As a reserve component, a vast number of National Guard Soldiers and Airman come from various occupations that make the men and women of the National Guard a highly versatile organization. During the last 13 years the role of the National Guard has changed from being a Strategic Force to a fully integrated Operation Force.

ConsFor those, who want to serve in the National Guard. Remember that this organization is a component of the United States Military.

Advice to Senior ManagementConsider taking the Army and Air Force Reserve and merging them into the National Guard. This will reduce duplication and costs.
