Pros

As a military organizational, the United States National Guard is committed to its dual role as a highly trained combat element during a time of war and its first responder role, during regional disasters. As a reserve component, a vast number of National Guard Soldiers and Airman come from various occupations that make the men and women of the National Guard a highly versatile organization. During the last 13 years the role of the National Guard has changed from being a Strategic Force to a fully integrated Operation Force.

Cons

For those, who want to serve in the National Guard. Remember that this organization is a component of the United States Military.

Advice to Management

Consider taking the Army and Air Force Reserve and merging them into the National Guard. This will reduce duplication and costs.

    Pros

The degree of proficiency is superior. The Army values are the focus of every duty assignment. Standards are clearly defined.

    Cons

Some leaders lack intergrity. Potential for corruption is high as it is easy to engage in cronyism and friendship based promotions. Many deserving soldiers may be passed up for awards annd promotions in favor of friends. Family life is on constant attack. Stress levels are high.

    Advice to Management

Army regulation was not created to exploit loopholes. Do the right thing. Show compassion to all. Do not have tunnel vision. Do not let old friendships cause you to betray the Army Values.
