I have been working at US Navy full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Great retirement plan and medical coverage. See the world, visited 63 cities in 24 countries around the world including London. Paris, Barcelona, Rome, Pisa, Palma, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Corfu, and Rhodes as highlights. 30 Days paid vacation a year from the first day of enlistment/commission. Teamwork and camaraderie are unmatched. Once you make rate the pay is really pretty good. Allows for a residual income after 20 years.

Cons

A lot of missed holidays, birthdays, anniversaries.
