    Pros

It was a great experience to serve my country. You travel around the world and great benefits. would work for them again.

    Cons

You have no set working hours. Being deployed a lot keeps you away from your family majority of the time.

    Advice to Management

    I have no advice.

    Pros

Sense of purpose. Learn and earn leadership in tough conditions. Stretches you to accomplish more than you think you can in less time than you think is possible. Shipmates are friends for life. See as much of the World as you want. For a JO, you will earn far more than most of your civilian peers when you factor in benefits and allowances.

    Cons

Inconsistent senior leadership and mentoring, and every ship has a better or worse culture. Work/life balance is tough, but that's to be expected. Tendency to only retain average talent, even with better pay than most civilian jobs. Watching my department head made me want to get out.

    Advice to Management

Have a real, honest evaluation process. The language used in performance reviews can be kind of a joke because no one wants to hurt feelings or "ruin a career". Seems to be that the massive CO firings all point back to this extremely flawed process.
