I have been working at US Navy full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Joining the Navy at 17 y/o taught me much needed discipline, while providing job stability in a team centric atmosphere. I was able to attain a bachelor degree using tuition assistance while serving our great nation. Additionally, I was able to travel all around the world, as well as transfer my Post 911 GI Bill to my children. I absolutely recommend the Navy to anyone who is willing to enhance personally and professionally while possessing the desire to give back to our country.

    Cons

Not for everyone! Too many young men and women want to take advantage of the outstanding benefits that the Navy has to offer, while placing an unrealistic limit on the amount of sacrifice that is often needed to be a Sailor.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Although I understand that times change and organizations have to adapt, with the military being no different, I believe that politics have evolved to play a large part in guiding our day to day operations. Especially in a combat environment.
