Pros

Very good training, mentorship and experience. You get to choose the job that you want to do when you enlist. You do not have to stay at one specific job area. You rotate to get the full experience. They will send you to different trainings depending on your job in addition to paying for collage courses. GI bill is also a big plus.

Cons

Duties and deployments make it hard for the family. Not everyone gets deployed but almost everyone has duty. It can be hard for some people to get used to the military life.

    Pros

The United States Navy gave me the opportunity to lead the best people our country has to offer. You are soon trusted and entrusted to lead people into harms way, manage equipment worth millions of dollars, and given significant levels of responsibility. The core values of honor, courage, and commitment are the heart of our Navy and serve as our compass as we navigate through our lives.

    Cons

The time I was separated from my family. Otherwise, I have no other cons of significance.

  2. Senior Manager of 12 million dollars worth of equipment and 18 personnel.

    Pros

The work is always interesting and the people and places are so diverse. Love the fact that as a military serviceman we are held to such high standards that will be very appreciated in the civilian sector.

    Cons

Time away from family can be very difficult at times. Sometimes politics is put before fact base reality.

    Advice to Management

Listen more and take to action what the actual enlisted and junior technicians have to say about making improvements on policies and equipment reliability concerns.
