I have been working at US Navy full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Structure, job security, retirement, medical, dental, educational benefits, qualification and certification opportunities.

    Cons

Time away from family. Minimal influence on major protocols and policies. Highest leadership severely detached from ground level issues. Pay not always conducive with expectations.

    Advice to Management

Little focus on core issues impacting the ground level personnel. Seems as though all real issues become watered down or completely lost by the time they make it to the level for actual change.

I worked at US Navy full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits. Also enjoy the culture and diversity of the whole experience. If you like to travel and don't mind living in enclosed areas then you should be fine. The promotion is getting better now so you're not stuck in a position for years.

    Cons

A salary job you might be putting in endless hours of work, or maybe waiting for hours for certain things, but hey you're getting paid.

    Advice to Management

Change a few things about enlisted advancement. Let performance speak for the person's quality of work.
