I worked at US Navy full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Very stable work environment and supportive leadership. Great satisfaction that in helping your country make a difference.

    Cons

Energy level of many people in this environment is either low or very serious. There is also a large gap in experience so you will have a very young generation with a much more experienced older generation but not many people in the middle.

I worked at US Navy full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

There are great benefits. I got to go to college for free, travel the world, and meet lots of great people.

    Cons

Leadership is all over the place. You are told one about one thing, and suddenly 17 more things pop up. there is a break down of how many people are needed and how many people there actually are.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop kicking out sailors that actually make a difference. Get rid of the sailors that have no goals, no motivation, and n sense of purpose.
