Good experience, lots learned on the job, supportive atmosphere, average wages

Registered Nurse (Former Employee)

I worked at US Oncology full-time

ProsAs previously mentioned: supportive atmosphere, opportunities to learn on the job, decent benefits. They pay or reimburse for job related conventions.

ConsAverage wages and not much raise overtime. Nurses are salaried and whenever schedule is busy or overbooked (often enough) they have to stay and work for free to finish the work (mostly charting, restocking, cleaning, because patient care took up the entire shift). Yeah no one forces them to, but would you leave the unfinished work for tomorrow, when you're likely to be even busier?

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you want to keep RNs you need to pay their overtime. From over 10 years in the company and knowing many nurses who left or were about to leave, this is one of the main downsides. Why do you think highly skilled, licensed professionals don't deserve to be paid for their work if there's more than 8 hours' worth of work to be done?

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
