Pros

The pros of the job would be the wages and benefits. Also, when you are out delivering mail, you are on your own which allows you the ability to self manage. There are a wide range of ages and races of employees. I am a shy person, and this helped me to become more open.

Cons

The cons are that you are always watching the clock to make sure you make your delivery times for that day. Management can be counter-productive. Some employees can be lazy. The weather in Arizona can be hard to deal with at times.

Advice to Management

My advice to management would be for them to see that the bigger picture is maintain the relevancy of the USPS. It has been my experience that management can make personal, demeaning attacks against employees they do not favor, but if we could all become a true team and work together, there is no reason we can't get by.

    Pros

Money (22.15 an Hour Starting out)

    Cons

6 Day Schedule about 60 Hours a week
Management expects you to be superman, wont let you use your vacation time
    No Advancement
    No Job Security
    No Benefits

    Advice to Management

Stop milking the TE Carriers for everything you can. Instead of giving 1 TE 2 Routes try splitting up the extra route amongst the other 15-20 Career Carriers, I know they will moan and groan about the extra 15 minutes of mail but they can get over it. Believe it or not TE's actually have a life outside of delivering mail. Working from 9-7 Six days a week without any time for a drink or bathroom break or a lunch is just inhumane.

    Pros

Biggest union so pay isn't bad without a college degree and good benefits

    Cons

Future is insecure, the processing plant I work at currently maybe closing in January along with many others

    Advice to Management

Need to communicate with employees better and get their input and advice since they actually know the job
