Current Employee - CITY LETTER CARRIER in Minneapolis, MN

Pros

Work with great people. I get to see all the people I deliver to. I am working for a place that I feel I can make a difference.

Cons

Being a carrier, I work outside in all types of weather.
Sometimes I have to work more than expected on another route.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat people with respect. Don't assume you know all the answers.

The post office is not a team.

Current Employee - Rca  in  Union, MO
Current Employee - Rca in Union, MO

    Pros

The only pro for working as an RCA for the USPS is the pay.

    Cons

I have worked in three separate post offices and have always had the same issues. There is absolutely no team comradeship. No one cares about anyone or anything else besides themselves. If you are an RCA or a PTF, you are treated as though you are worthless. Everyone is out for there own gain and they care nothing for the person in the next case.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of the Union, they are killing the post office.

Frustrating! Changes that are good BUSINESS decisions are being bypassed to appease small customer factions.

Current Employee - PPO in New Orleans, LA

    Pros

Benefits are changing, but still relatively good. Job stability is better than in many other companies.

    Cons

Bowing to public pressure continues to deter from good business practices. Deficits have to be eliminated for greater good of company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Times are challenging, but decisions that help to reverse downward spiral that may be upsetting to customers need to be made. The amount of facilities open and the amount of workers unable to perform their duties are in conflict with the USPS seeing a positive turn.
