I have been working at US Postal Service part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good pay for what you do

    Cons

No benefits, too much politics, not managed well at all. Promotion is based on senority so no incentive to work harder than the next person. Management at my facility is usually promoted from the career clerk who is the worst worker but can't be laid off due to the contract

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change the whole culture and efficieny to become a profitable businesses and stop relying on the gov't to bail you out

I worked at US Postal Service full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Decent wage. Decent health benefits.

    Cons

Poor management. Managers don't listen to suggestions from the employees. It's "their way" or "there's the door" mentality. That's why the PO is going down the tubes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop treating the employees like they were machines. Take into consideration their limits as a human being and not only look at the projected numbers as a way to base each employees job performance.
