Great benefits and long time career employees are some of the most dedicated employees anywhere. Strong sense of loyalty and togetherness within the company. Exposure to some of the most sophisticated systems anywhere.

Cons

Size of organization makes it hard to make changes in needed time frame. Postal workers union has too much power in the organization, unwilling to be flexible with the changing times and economy. Upper management lives in a "silo", not exposed to enough positive and negative outside sources.

Advice to Senior Management

make the needed changes or the USPS will not be around anymore. The unions need to give the needed concessions or the USPS will become just like GM and Chrysler.
