I have been working at US Postal Service part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Working with customers can be very rewarding.

    Cons

The post office is run like the government, the people up top have no idea what is going on in the offices on a daily basis. The postal service also cut the wages of all of the people starting by $5 an hour and are treating the older people that work there terribly so that they will quit instead of paying them their retirement. If you change your position at the post office you are re-hired so that your time starts over again so you can work there for 40 years and still not have enough time in to retire. This is not a job that I would recommend for anyone.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You make a big deal about how the customers come first, and even on the back of our checks it says (thanks to our customers) What you seem to have forgotten is that EVERYONE of your employees are customers first! We are customers when we put that letter in the mailbox before we go to work,we are customers when we send that package to the Army,we are customers when we send that express overnight and we are customers when we get home and check our mail. When you treat your employees like trash remember you are treating your customers like trash. We all have friends and when we are treated badly we talk about it.
