Pros

Get to work with the best in the industry. Loved my boss and wrote a glowing recommendation. I think it is a great place to work.

Growth is tough in such a big company, though you do get really good experience and the chance to work in different areas.

I have been working at USA Today full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Looks good on your resume

    Cons

Constant restructuring, constant management changes. No real vision. No opportunity to be promoted within. New management is brining in "their crew". Run more like a cut-throat Conde Naste environment, then a well oiled ship. Watch your back.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on the brand and not keeping your job.

I worked at USA Today as a contractor (more than 3 years)

    Pros

You get to work by yourself.
You meet lots of nice crazy gas station attendents.
It makes you start your day off early.

    Cons

Waking up at 2Am isn't for everyone.
It's dangerous to wander around bad towns at night.
They don't get you gas credit.
You're on contract so they don't have to pay you for tons of extra work.
You have to cut off newspaper corners of every paper that didn't sell.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you can't hire employees without a contract than something is wrong with your business model.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
