Current Employee - Customer Service Representative in Tampa, FL

Pros

Fair Pay, not great but fair

Cons

No work life balance, if you miss one single day in the first 6 months you are fired on the spot. Regardless of reason, flu, death in family, whatever.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get fair. Employees have lives outside of work. Respect that.

    Pros

Great company who really cares about their members and employees. They live by their mission statement and are passionate about who USAA is. Great compensation and excellent benefits. Awesome 401k plan, the best I've seen!

    Cons

Call center environment so you're at your desk taking phone calls the entire shift. But trade off is worth it.

    Pros

Most of the managers I have had have been very good. Overall there is a great work environment. Lots of perks and nice benefits.

    Cons

Structure can be overly regimented in some aspects.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are new ways of working coming on the horizon. Command and Control style thinking and ways of getting things done can only take you so far. Even if top management understands this, USAA won't be able to innovate unless middle and front line managers begin to understand how to tap into the full potential of all the employees.
