Pros

lots of cafeterias, popular restaurant options, gyms, massage therapy, clinics, Starbucks, gift shops, etc. on site make the employee experience convenience and helpful

Cons

management needs more training in interpersonal skills, relationship management, etc. It's not easy to change jobs within the company, which is something most people thing would be relatively simple for a company of 15,000-20,000+ positions.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

more training, stop making employees have to keep daily records on their time management (it actually wastes more time/money than it probably helps)

    Pros

    The company provides great benefits. Compensation is fair and the company consitently pays yearly bonuses to employees. On-site perks for employees include on-site banking, fitness centers, post office, etc.

    Cons

    USAA is a very large company and you feel like just any other face in the crowd. For most, career advancement is slow.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Better communication with employees. Work to promote from within, there are many eager, intelligent, hard working employees that are not given a chance to show you what they can do.

    Great Pay Huge Christmas Party IF you work at the headquarters in San Antonio Texas

    Worked in Regional Services (San Antonio Call Center)

    Managers refuse to get on the phones when busy!

    Managers sit at desk and chat about personal things on phone with other managers

    Only low Reps get on phones so know one in management knows what its like (they were on the phones 10+ years ago before everything changed)

    Coach you one way one week and different the next

    Everyone acts like they like it at work but outside how much they hate it

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Make managers get on the phones when it is busy and take calls so that they understand how and what to coach. They can't and don't understand what it is like just by listening to calls!!!
