Used to be a good company. Now just another underdog consulting company trying to play and survive in the big league.

Pros

Has a good number of fortune 500 clients.

Have many good and fun loving people all around - both at onshore and offshore.

Depending on the client and your luck you can participate in some of the fun activities happening within the company. Same is applicable to getting into good projects with good learning opportunities.

Though going downhill, it still has some values and cultures (atleast it pretends so).

Approachability to managers any level above you (though end results are questionable).

If you are willing to take more responsibilities you will get it and if you are really smart you will most likely get most of the credit out of it. Being able to do a good job with good communication along with good measurable KRA settings is important.

Cons

Employee resource allocation is really bad - if not really careful the possibility of getting pushed into a bad project is very high and at the time of appraisal the favor we did will get ignored very easily.

No or minimal salary appraisals - and we can come across all sort of funny reasons (and may also hear about some mysterious normalization which no one knows if and when it happens). So whoever is considering this company better do a good at salary negotiation before accepting any offer.

The company has surprisingly high number of dumb or bad managers – especially in the middle management level. A majority of project management mostly confines to task tracking and not much real planning - so project success almost fully depends on the technical team.

The company being just another underdog consulting company trying to play and survive in the big league most new projects seems to be under-quoted in terms of time and/or billing amount - and the entire teams bear the brunt of it. And partly this is the reason for a sub standard compensation for most of the employees.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company used to have fewer but good clients before. Now the company has much more clients but maybe because of under-quoted projects the perceived quality has been compromised. It is good that company grows but in the process please don't compromise on quality. I feel some clients are inappropriately taking advantage the software consulting business by forcing vendors to compromise on quality.

Please pay appropriate compensation and retain good existing employees.

    Pros

If we have work only we need to be at company. Allows recreation facilities for relaxation. easy to reach the top level management.

    Cons

Compensation and hike providing is less. Production support works will be critical and most of the time need to be there at company. More challenging projects are not taking and concentrating more on production support tasks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to reach the employees directly, not through HR people.
