I worked at UT Southwestern Medical Center

    Pros

    needed a job
good beni's at a high price
    Trying to think of more
    Bunch of holiday's
    Get a discount thru Verizon

    Cons

insult clocking in for exempt employee's
total imbalance in management...it is always a surprise on promotions
Unbelievable use of out of state consultants traveling every week, some for more than 5 years. They are paid a very large hourly rates, hotel, rental car, food etc.. Come & go as they please, most have no report to requirements. Consult for UTSW... kick back, fly, eat reap the high dolar

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take note this is working for the "state" at very low pay when management gets on their high horse. Nothing is for free. Works both ways, clocking in for salary employee's get what you pay for. In/out nothing more.. Plus the great media and association w/ Parkland.

I have been working at UT Southwestern Medical Center

    Pros

Good reputation, good benefits, time off, good attempt to stay up with technology, new president is good at communicating via emails.

    Cons

If you get a bad boss, life can be miserable. Life in the clinical departments seemed better than administrative departments. Some departments have more resources than others. No bonues. Typical regulations for a state institution. Some areas have lots of overtime while others do not.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train management to be more positive and acknowledge successes and not just screw ups.
