Pros

There are plenty of opportunities here to engage in scientific discussion and perform cutting-edge research. There are also a number of excellent career-related resources available to postdocs.

Cons

There is a lack of variety of food choices available on-campus, and all food-service closes early (i.e. for people who work late into the evening, it makes finding dinner a little bit challenging).

    Pros

Received my phlebotomy certification in order to get another job and out of there!

    Cons

Bad management, low pay, make you think you are bound to "two full years of work" even though it is not a contract job. Lots of people here that do nothing all day leaving the lower staff bogged down in work and responsibilities.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of upper management and replace with people who understand how things should work

Great for careers in medicine and science, not so much for business careers...

    Pros

Medical benefits are top-tier, good work/life balance, and variety of departments for which to work if wanting to transfer internally.

    Cons

While not every department is bad, there are a few within UT Southwestern that are infamously known for having a bad rap. However, HR does nothing to correct the situations even after noticing a high turnover rate. In addition, they hire supervisors with no qualifications for the job who just act as placeholders to do the work and keep moving. Any small mistakes that are made are quick to be disciplined.

    Advice to Management

Hire more qualified management, allow employees to evaluate supervisors, value business professionals
