UTC Aerospace Systems Employee Review

I have been working at UTC Aerospace Systems full-time for more than a year

Pros – The best part of the Danbury, CT location is the culture. This was Goodrich Co. prior to being acquired by UTC and many people have worked together for many years and are very friendly. It is hard to find a grumpy person.
The pay is very good, especially for the ones coming out of college. Plus, the overtime is paid (depending on the department).
Things are not as rigid as in other big companies. There is some flexibility to grow for the driven individual.

Cons – The only con that I can think of is that, once you get a position, you are almost stuck there. This seems to be the culture of the place. I have asked for more opportunity for growth and I have received some gentle push-back.
The ones that work hard SEEM to be rewarded. I say seem to be rewarded since I haven't had a chance to experience that yet.

Advice to Senior Management – If you see people willing to learn and grow, do not get them stuck in a mindless job, but give them the opportunity. Allow some room for experimenting in other aspects of the field for the junior engineers that are driven to learn.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
